Interesting. Then it is the Franks who are to blame for the belief of "The concept of the Holy Father"? It is this belief that keeps us from having union with the Roman Catholic Church ? I wonder. It is a fact that Rome will not give this up. We have been told that this is reason why we do not have union with Rome.
I’m a bit confused. My Archpriest (We’re Western Rite so he is NOT a Roman Monsignor) told me that religious sculpture in MODERATION is not forbidden in Orthodoxy:

It’s also ironic in the video that he condemns sculpture of any kind yet defends the ark when the Cherubim were sculpted.
I also want to know this as a thought experiment:
If Rome ever returns to Orthodoxy, what will a new Orthodox Pope’s responsibilities be towards all the art since the Renaissance? Should it all be sold to private collectors and secular museums?
Should the Sistine Chapel be white washed and started over with proper icons?
OR, can the frescoes be rehabilitated?
Not expunged but tweaked, modified to be made Orthodox.

Only one thing needs to be almost completely erased:
God the Father. There should be NO attempt at depicting more than His hand. Show That only from the Golden Triangle, reaching to Adam.

The more that I have studied this topic, BECAUSE OF my initial love, or infatuation for Eastern Theology, and liturgical expression, the more I have become to see that THERE IS NO ONE ORTHODOX CHURCH, SINGULAR, but instead we have ORTHODOX CHURCHES, PLURAL.
And I am unable to see it any other way now.
And there is no mention of AN ORTHODOX CHURCH, in ANY OF THE CREEDS.
So why would the so called Orthodox Church, which claims to be THE AUTHENTIC CHURCH, opt for the title, ORTHODOX, instead of the title that is given in the Creeds, which the word, CATHOLIC..?

Thats a good point he brings up about the Icons, The franks rejected teh seventh ecumenical council which protected the icons. This is why in Papist churches you get naked statues and then theyll turn around and tell you you are committing a mortal sin for looking at the statue when they put it in there.

Seems like poor history here. Constantine's favourite pastors were Arian. Arianism was rife throughout East and west, but it did not stand because it is false. The schism only happened because a tiff between the Eastern and Western Roman Emperors and because the Patriach of Constantinople and the Roman "ambassador" (for want of a better description) had a very human fight.
We all have suffered because of these tiffs, seems silly to double down and perpetuate them and not recognise them for what they are.
