Archbishop Averky was a righteous shepherd of the 20th century who served as Abbot of the Holy Trinity Monastery and Rector of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY. He was spiritual son of the great 20th century theologian and holy hierarch, Archbishop Theophan of Poltava, Russia, and therefore a living link in America to the Faith of Pre-Revolutionary Russia. Archbishop Averky was so esteemed that before his repose, St. John Maximovitch told Fr. Seraphim Rose that if he had any theological questions to ask Archbishop Averky. The honorable Archbishop reposed in 1976 and his relics lie in a small chapel for veneration at Holy Trinity Monastery.

The beginning of this video is so true and it's much worse today than it was back then in the 70's and 80's because of the internet, so now there are many people who are not even really Orthodox misrepresenting it.

Where's America's St. John Chrisostom? Where's any hierarch stirring up righteous indignation? Where's our clergy standing up for the 1st Amendment and renouncing government shutdowns of the Church? I am ashamed to say that anti-Orthodox apologists, like John MacArthur show more courage and commitment to his heterodox beliefs. All I see is weakness and capitulation in our fathers. 'Nuff said.
The person who led me to Christ in the 80s (as a Protestant ), is becoming as you stated, talking about one world government and world peace. He doesn’t speak of God or Christ anymore, but calls Him “The Creator.” I am astonished how on point this message is which you spoke. I’m thankful my husband has shown me the true Church, the Orthodox Church, and I thank you for these podcasts.

I never let anyone around me mock God. If they do I mock them twice as hard. I say, you believe you evolved from a monkey? How can you be so stupid? Then I laugh at them 😅! If I hear Protestant say they are superior to the Orthodox, I tell them, Christ established our church thru the apostles. we have the history and apostolic succession to prove it, you have the devil's Church. Established not by Christ but by men deceived by Satan. History also proves that.
