Am I the only one that finds it highly suspect? The hospitals here are essentially force euthanizing people via intubation. The situation in Greece seems just as dubious. St. Metropolitan Amfilohije, pray for us.

God bless him BUT Elder Ephraim rejected me from being a monk, expressly because I had no Greek heritage: being Greek Orthodox and having a Masters in Theology was not enough. He told me that Patriarch Bartholomew has come to blows with him for accepting non-Greeks. His secretary, (Fr Theonas) said it was a stupid precedent, and because he invited me to Athos for an entire year, he apologized sorrowfully to me while I was confessing. SIMONOPETRA and LAVRA were just as RACIST & RUDE, without any regard that I'd come across the world with all the right documents, allowing me a year. I left after two months, discusted at how I was the victim of Racism, and refused entry as a postulant at any of the the three mentioned. Moreover, I was told by a priest of high rank that Patriarch BARTHOLOMEW HAD PUT A TIGHT QUOTA ON NON-GREEKS APPLICANTS, WHICH IS GETTING DOWN TO ZERO- unless you have Greek blood. All three monasteries I mentioned knew I would easily pick up Modern Greek (having studied Koine Greek at High Distinction at Masters level); No: The sole criteria, which was especially pronounced by Elder Ephraim, who, after the hearing my general confession, went thtough an extensive family chart, trying to find any Greek blood on either side. If I had, I would now be a monk. My own name is Ephraim, from Sydney…this is honest and true, but it hits home at every Orthodox man who has felt the perennial vocation to Monasticism: THEY DON'T WANT NON GREEKS- PERIOD! IF YOU ARE GREEK ORTHODOX, BUT NOT GREEK, SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTBREAK AND STRUGGLING IN FAITH THAT CAME FROM THIS DESERT OF BETRAYAL AND RACISM. I pray that my testimony will change the hearts of stone among the Abbots on Athos, and by being open to all Orthodox, show forth it's katholicity! PS: I was and still a man with no impediments to monasticism or priesthood. The final staggering thing: when I got the rare chance to talk to an these Abbots and hieromonk officials was the absence of questions like,"tell me of your prayer, and your Christian discipleship and love of the Theotokos. They were only interested in the "race questions". I hope this sad but factual comment stop yet more heartache and demolished vocations for Anglo-Saxon, Greek Orthodox men. And may God will to forgive this dark cloud hanging over Athos as we speak, and finally, that the Panagia will find a way to live the life of a mon, for which I have longed since my earliest memories! Of your kindness and empathy, please pray for me, a fellow disciple.
