13. Are we supposed to confess for things we don’t do? In the US Infantcide is legal and I’m not really seeing the church speak out about it.

    This is from a wonderful podcast on ancient faith radio and it really has me wondering what we are responsible for.

14. I found you just today and am listening intently. I was raised in a very liberal version of Protestantism and converted to Catholicism as a young man. Though I had studied Catholicism on my own before converting I had no idea of what I was getting into. Everything was about Vatican II which in many ways is a total repudiation of what came before. I eventually left that for Traditional Catholicism, but it scarcely exists anymore and has the obvious problem of not having a pope (repudiating all claimants to the papacy since the death of Pius XII).

    I did find a small ROCOR church but was not able to understand Russian or the Old Slavonic of the liturgy and was not able to stand for extremely long periods. I expressed an interest in converting but the priest told me that Orthodox and Catholic were the same thing (though the Deacon assured me that Catholics do not have grace). I've been around the block on these issues for many years and it's truly difficult to find (or maybe recognize) a local version of the True Church.

    I've read most of Fr. Seraphim Rose's books and have been deeply impressed. But he warns against Ecumenism not only in Rome (fully embraced and promoted since Vatican II), but also in much of what passes for Orthodoxy. Perhaps you'd be able to suggest how an older English-speaking American (with some knowledge of Latin and Italian) can go about finding the Church you speak of?

20. Fr Spyridon's Confessional Box lol!! Fr S. I had a verbal altercation with a orthodox priest 2day & I exploded & blasphemed – said "Jesus effing Christ u r as bad as the catholic priests". (I am ex RC) He is privy to info I am a survivor of rc abuse but does not have a freakin clue what it all means.  He put his hand up in my face like I was Satan himself & yelled "Get out" You know get out of the church and all. I told him 'I am a woman get yer hand outta my face' & left. I told Iosa I was sorry God knows my heart is for Him but why would a ortho priest be so full on & not understand words said in rage do not not reflect truly who a person is. Fortunately I aint joined to any church and now I don't want to. Made me cry later – I am so freaking exhausted from trying to innerstand God be holy all the rituals and self righteous ppl Then the fear of Hell but this life on earth is Hell in so many ways and Hell can be found in ortho church ppl too… I am Irish – the days of bowing and scraping to priests like they r Gods is well over for us ppl.If u r really honest Fr S half the clergy are fulla shit & God knows it.
