Saint Onuphrius the Great was born to a royal family in Ethiopia. From birth Saint Onuphrius the Great was raised in an Orthodox monastery where he first learned to lead a God pleasing life. Saint Onuphrius the Great is known within the Orthodox Church for his great ascetical struggles and his great love for God.
