Thank you so much again, Father Panayiotis! Although I was born and raised Greek Orthodox, I could never truly explain it to others, let alone come to complete terms with it myself. This was very well said! God willing, I hope one day I can come visit and say thank you to you, your Presvetera and family, and the rest of your staff! 🙏💕☦️🕊
P.S. I have my mom and brother watching you too! 😊💗
I loved your services so much and i tried to saw most of them.I never thought that was too long,i am so pleased ❣️thank you
When Orthodox Services end, one doesn't want them to end, the beautiful of being with the Lord.
Thank you for sharing
Obviously Fr. is way more right than me. But the services are so long because it’s not about you or me. Which is such a blessing because it takes all the pressure off
I love this explanation father! It makes so much sense. Can't wait to worship with you again.
The services seem so very short! 🙂
I am enlightened! Thank you so much for this explanation!
Spending time with God is never too long!
As a new convert, in this trying time when churches are closed–I'd be happy with any service of its length. 🙁
During long services I find myself lost in, immersed in, the event; time seems to disappear altogether.
Perhaps the better question is why do some denominations have such short services? Why do some show up just before the Gospel reading and leave immediately after taking Communion? A week is 154 hours: we spend +/-56 hours asleep; +/-40 hours at work; 7+ hours cooking & eating. How much time is spent watching TV or browsing the internet? Surely we can spend +/-2 hours each week with God and commit to at least a portion of the services of Holy Week!
Super! I'm moved really, he hit the button…ON! Communion with The Holy one of Israel is the art of war… The rock of our Salvation! I was gifted with a word from God: Are you arrested by this social lock down or at rest? This is a monumental moment in time, Judas or Peter hu? Amen & thanks for the upload 110%
(1:06), Thats a fair question! why does the Orthodox denomination spend so much time on the liturgical aspect of the service? And the brother gives the answer (1:45).
9:18, an important question for all men to consider!
Thanks for your answer 😺 Father

I am A Traditional Roman Catholic love going to Sunday Mass to hear the beauty of the Latin Mass. Being in the presence of God all mighty is such A great thing. My faith has grew stronger and stronger after my great grandma died last year A week before Christmas. I don't find services to be long we are in A time that we need God. God Bless everybody and lead us God to the glory of Heaven and guide us so when we die our souls won't be damned to enternal hell fire
Beautiful Father Greetings from Queensland Australia.
I feel like this question is often asked out of ignorance. If we are filled to the brim with the love of Christ in such deep and heartfelt-contrite prayer, we'd gladly remain for seven hours on our feet endlessly praising Christ. It's a matter of our spiritual desire and our devotion to Christ, that we remain for such long time periods in prayer. Christ Jesus our true God, truly Risen from the dead, save us! Thank you for the wonderful video, Trisagion Films, and thank you, Father of this parish (I forgot his name, my apologies!).
Much respect, Father. Your videos have taught me a lot. I don't want to go back to when Christ was crucified! Never! I don't want to think about it. He was tortured and his mommy had to watch Him die! I never want to go back there. If I think about it, I cry. Thank God, Christ is risen.
Orthodox Christian services are long? 😀
Ανάμνησισ! I wrote a paper on this… So happy you spoke on this! Awesome connection between tech. and the Bible! Love it! CHRIST IS RISEN!
I am Ethiopian Orthodox our mass take 3 hours Saturday and Sunday it’s start 6:00 am and finish around 9:00 am. And no food before mass.
I'm a Russian Orthodox Christian who is Italian American guy and I love being in Church and I don't Divine Liturgy is that long. Amish services run from 9AM to 1PM that is only if don't have reading of the bible for community members to recite and if they did it would last until 2PM.
You guys never been to a Black Baptist church. Orthodox service is done when Black Baptist just get started with the Word from the preacher, which can last hours somedays…
Plus in Orthodoxy if you are attending right, you are actively engaged vs. Just sitting their and watching an almost concert in Protestant service.
If one has trouble worshipping Christ on earth how do you expect to worship him in heaven.
They are not really long
In early church an all night vigil really took 12 hours
They are short in these days
Kneeling, bowing, prostrations, standing, …and not sitting on chairs
