My perception is you get what you'e given, no man is above the creator or god. This life is a test, have a perception of karma, strong mother earth discipline, live your life the best way you feel helps the planet and there's enough evidence to suggest different levels of heaven and hell. Let's face it, atheism is beyond dumb, it's basically believing the universe was created by accident and the singularity magically appeared out of nowhere. I put my faith in a celestial realm over a magic trick
How were the Catholic and Orthodox churches ever one?. This idea of lifting souls out of Hell and the absence of purgatory seem vastly different than Roman Catholicism
"There's no Purgatory" I strongly disagree with that statement, there's plenty of evidence of the existence of the intermediate spiritual state in the Bible know as Purgatory, theologically makes all sense it existence, for example strong Atheists that were good people on Earth cant enter Heaven directly due to their rebellious spirit imo. And is theatrically for the spirits that have committed sins or are in denial but have potential of repentance, the spirits that go to Hell don't have any of it and thats the difference imo. https://www.scripturecatholic.com/purgatory/#II_Purification_After_Death_By_Fire
"13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames" 1 Corinthians 3:13-15
From the island of Cyprus the island of the Saints Acts 13: 4-5-6
Lazarus, Horrible Hades and Life after death
Allow me to use the experience of the resurrected friend of Lord Jesus Lazarus who became the first Cyprus bishop here for 30 years after he was resurrected in order to explain why it was impossible for anyone unprepared to see God after death (now or after His Second Coming) and live!
Lazarus, Horrible Hades and Life after death
Hades remains the same holding place for those without Baptism as delivered by the Holy Spirit the day of Pentecost till His Second Coming!
Even thought Lazarus was a very dear boyhood friend of Lord Jesus when dying the first time he went to horrible Hades for four days because the Church and Lords Holy Sacraments like the Mystery of Baptism that PURIFIES the HEART and UNIDES MAN WITH GOD where not present yet!
[A Kor. 4:1] LET a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries/sacraments of God
Lazarus the resurrected friend of Lord Jesus was the first Cyprus Bishop here (the second Christian Church created by the Apostles after the one in Jerusalem) for 30 years after leaving Jerusalem, and he was known by his clergy to never ever smile. He was also known to often spit on the ground discreetly while making a bitter face. After many years of “questioning” he finally revealed the unbearable horror of Hades while there for 4 days (before being resurrected by Lord Jesus) and also explained that it was impossible for anyone being there ever recovering from the shock of ugly things seen and experienced.
Before the coming of Lord Jesus and the creation of His Church as a therapeutic institution from SIN, the devil had the authority to take ~all souls~ to Hades including the righteous ones like all all of the prophets of the Old Testament. After the creation of His Church, those Baptized that become UNITED with God [Galatians 3:27] were now able when the soul leaves the body (death) to go through a “judgment before the Judgment” hearing known as ~Toll Houses~ that will determine the "waiting place" between Paradise (the presence of God Logos) and Hades till His Second Coming. Those not Baptized and prepared are taken by demons straight to Hades like always! Orthodox Afterlife: The 20 Toll Houses
there are 7 billion people on earth and only 300 million orthodox christians.. please father spyridon, there are so many christians outside the Orthodox Church what about them??? I am scared for them
Please pray for the Soul of Tom Ross who died this morning at 8AM due to a disaster in my home town. He and 5 other people were working on a old building and a chimney collapsed on him and there he reposed. I aak my brothers and sisters in Christ is to have mercy and pray for this well known man in my town that he may journey unhindered
Father, the Church Fathers are clear that there is no repentance among the damned. If it were not so, they would not have called the fire “everlasting” and punishment “eternal” (see here: https://www.catholic.com/tract/the-hell-there-is). If I could “repent” in hell, then is it hell? We run into dangerous territory when we deny Purgatory because then it is not clear why we are praying for the dead, and so then we must begin to over-intellectualize, even to the point of heresy. Purgatory explains why we pray for the dead. At the moment of death, the soul makes a final decision, and so this life is for the purpose of preparing for that decision. We pray for the dead, so that souls in Purgatory may make their journey to Heaven as quickly as possible, as purgatory is a painful place to be, feeling the pain of being so close yet so far from their destination. Even saints at the moment of death are beset by evil spirits, who try to tempt them to despair, which is the purpose of the sacrament of Extreme Unction, given to all faithful at the moment of death.
Luke 23:43 – Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, TODAY you will be with me in paradise." The criminal did not have time to cooperatively "work out" his salvation and progression towards Theosis. If i'm understanding Fr. Spyridon correctly, St. Anthony the great of the desert's vision of aerial toll houses appears to be in contradiction to Jesus's statement. I'm going to take Jesus at his word, continue to be obedient to Him and simply not worry about the mechanics of the state of the soul after death.
Nice words, very heartfelt, but words are cheap now, "Father" Spyridon. Why don't you tell us "Father" of YOUR soul BEFORE death then: do you intend, personally, as a good shepherd, to accept the vaccine? Here in Greece, this is the question we are asking of our "Fathers" who worship in their emptied churches. Tell us brother Spyridon, I will call you that, whether you will accept from these enemies of humanity and Christ their vaccine or will you bend the knee as have our and your bishops… Tell us about YOUR soul, and theirs, if you are my brother in Christ, about what is happening now, today, before death. And relate it please to this very nice vdieo about what happens after… or would you rather turn off your comments as they have, so as not to hear what your flock has to say. We await your answer. I will pray for you, to strengthen you in your consideration of this question. And may my brothers and sisters forgive the harshness of my tone. For those of you who speak Greek, please see this related video regarding the answer given by a monk in the Holy Mountain: https://youtu.be/yv7I-6nUIfA
How is this vision (ie. aerial tollhouses) of the after life any different from the Roman Catholic Church's belief in Purgatory? Furthermore, do Orthodox Christians have to believe in aerial tollhouses?
Thank you for your wisdom
There is no Purgatory? So the elects go to heaven right after death?
The Spirit and the flesh together equal the soul. You'll find this in Genesis chapter 2
The flesh equals the man. The spirit equals the Breath of Life. The combination of the Flesh and the spirit equals a living soul.
When the Flesh of man dies the spirit departs from that vessel however that Spirit Never Dies it is eternal.
Conclusion. The soul expires at the moment that the Flesh of man perishes. The spirit is eternal. The soul is the equivalency of both the Flesh and the spirit combined and upon death of the flesh the soul is no more.
Amen
God bless you father prayers for you and thanks for your spiritual inspiration

Amen Amen Amen.
Where is it written that God can move souls from Hell to Heaven? Does not the parable of Lazarus say that a gulf is fixed between the Rich Man and Lazarus, and they cannot cross?
Father, would you please share the names of the Holy Fathers who have believed that God will move an unrepentant soul who has been prayed for by us into Paradise at the Last Judgment? Some clergy who have said it have believed in universal salvation as well…I have read specific saints who have said God does not offer that but does offer the comfort you mention before that Day…thank you in Christ!
Well I wonder how the church came to this that the soul is created at the moment of conception, that is certainly not from the bible.
We need more priests like you here in the USA.
Where in the Bible does it say that we can pray the hell-bound deceased person from hell to heaven?
Catholics believe in Purgatory. We do need to pray for the dead .
i’m a christian exploring the orthodox faith. i’m still so confused about the being given a foretaste of heaven or hell. i guess more so i’m terrified that i’ll be given a foretaste of hell. do you hold similar beliefs to catholics about mortal and venial sins? if i repent in my heart but haven’t gotten a chance to confess and i die will i be given a foretaste of hell?
We are not taught in scripture to pray for the dead.
Before Christ, how did ever my soul go to Hades is Moses appeared with Christ at the Transfiguration?
Father, can you do a video about those who did not hear the good news and perished? Does the message when christ descended into hades apply to them? How would this work? Can they be given a second chance or just one chance either on earth or hell
I lost my father twelve days ago. I'm having a hard time. And then this video of yours shows up. This video… I don't know what to say, but I needed to hear these words. God Bless you, father. May I ask a blessing from you?
My book "TRAMPLING DOWN DEATH BY DEATH" details the Orthodox understanding of death and the journey of the soul in more detail.
