On June 4/17, we commemorate St. Sophia of Thrace, Mother of Orphans. St. Sophia lived in Thrace (or Ainos) in what is today Eastern Greece and Southern Bulgaria. She gives us an example of a faithful wife and mother, and for most of her adult life, widower and caretaker for orphans and the poor. A faithful woman, full of prayer and love, she gained eternal life, even in this life, by humbly serving others for the sake Christ, her loving Master.

On a personal note, St. Sophia is my daughter’s patron Saint.
St. Sophia, Mother of Orphans, pray to God for us!
This channel is dedicated to sharing the writings and lives of the Saints of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Glory to Jesus Christ!
Could I pray to Her I'm not an Orphan but was rejected by the one who birthed me but only keep up appearances when needed.
Is this by any chance, the patron saint of your newborn daughter?
It would be great if you can do some OT stuff! Say Saint Gregory's The life of Moses, or some of Saint Ephrem's stuff!
What a lovely woman! What an extraordinary life! There's always something of immense value in the videos you post. Thank you for your labor of love! 💞
Thank you. Asking your blessings Saint Sophia.
God Bless you brother – what a beautiful patron saint!
