13. The finance/math part, is that the hedge fund people did what we in finance call a synthetic long. They bought the right to buy gamestop stock at a fixed price, and sold the right to sell it at a fixed price. In an attempt to ensure that they profit from their synthetic long in a way I don't understand, they short-sold game stop stock, meaning that they borrowed gamestop's stock and sold it with the obligation to buy it back later. But then r/WallStreetBets bought the stock, which drove up the price of the stock, which drove up the cost of the transaction to the hedge fund people. The value of the synthetic long did go up because of the price of the under-lying stock going up, but not by as much as the cost of buying the stock back to fulfill the obligation that the short-selling entails. So now, the hedge fund people are losing money when they thought that they would gain money. But that isn't even the important part, the important part is the legal part.
    The legal part, is that the r/WallStreetBets crowd might be committing market manipulation, which is a crime in which you conspire to manipulate the price of a security. I say "may" because the market manipulation statute in the U.S.A. is so vague, that every prosecution is a coin-flip. The hedge fund people have definitely committed a crime, because they sold more gamestop stock, than actually exists. Selling what isn't yours is legal. But only if you buy it back. the hedge fund people cannot buy it back, because not all of it exists. So we have people who may have broken the law vs people who have definitely broken the law. In other words, the Hedgefund people are bank-rupt, because they cannot meet their end of the transaction no matter what they do, and at least one party to this should go to jail, and if only one party goes to jail, it should be the hedge fund people.

The childfree subreddit has more than a million subs and it's a growing social movement. I'm sure that's not gonna be a controversial video at all…
    Just kidding, of course. Also, on a slightly related note, I heard that the Serbian orthodox church is against ivf treatments for infertility, and I don't get why?
