10. So Christians need to feel persecuted to justify their beliefs, right?
    The reality is that as science has been progressing, there are less and less room for a god to exist. In remote times, everything was due to a god. Today, science explains pretty much everything in nature and a supernatural entity is not needed to explain anything.
    NOBODY has proof of a god, yet a lot of people believes there is at least one. Either one of the many religions’s god is real, which makes the other ones fake, but most likely non of them are real.

14. Renounced religion 14 years ago due to lack of faith. Saw the end of times prophesies & persecution begin, now I believe, but struggling with my heart. I just hope I have enough time to get right with God before things really go awry.

18. Christians are hardly persecuted in the West. That's just a silly claim. There's nothing to be gained by inducing paranoia in people. Christianity is alive and well in this world and while certainly Christians are persecuted in some Muslim countries and in China and North Korea, keep in mind that Muslims have been discriminated against pretty severely in some countries and China and North Korea persecute members of other religions as well. Just as the Tibetan Buddhists. Communism is very unfriendly towards religion, nothing new there, but there is nothing special about Christianity in that context. Moreover, humanity may not be as deformed as the good father says. We have far less violence than ever before (see the books of Steven Pinker), live under the rule of law, have recognized human rights (however imperfectly they are defended). Yes, the world is full of injustice but failing to recognize how much progress there has been is folly. Among the rights that have flourished in the West is the right to worship as we please.

26. I appreciate this message deeply, Father Spyridon. I am not Orthodox, I do not associate myself with any particular church, I just call myself a Christian. But I often find that the Orthodox videos I watch on Youtube have a sort of authentic-ness and purity of message to them that resonates with me. My grandmother was Ukranian Orthodox, and sometimes I wonder if I should give an Orthodox church a try, although there are none near where I live currently.
