2. I tried to read the Jaron Lanier book on your recommendation. I could not finish it. He doesn't take his own advice, he said don't be an a hole and demonize people. And then two seconds later turned around and demonized me because I question climate change. He makes a lot of good points which would have been better if he had chosen some of his bogey men from the left and not exclusively from the right. Maybe the second half of the book would have been better but it's a hard slog through so much idiocy.

5. Father, your videos really worry me at times. Political controversy puts a big toll on my system and I lose sleep. I make such measly and unworthy attempts to grow in the Gospel, be prayerful and loving etc. then any time I turn on the news and am reminded what all the godless ideology is trying to get voted in (or funded, etc), and I feel like what little I do is crushed by this new world Juggernaut. And yes, Donald Trump is part of all that havoc. All of these atheists who want to construct a 'new human", it's the same sickness of these latter days that Dostoevsky fought so hard against. And it will just keep getting more appalling until Christ comes back and subjects all unrighteousness under his sinless dominion.

10. I'm 61 and I refuse to own one. I have an old flip cell for emergencies. It stays in the glove compartment of my car. Society was very social prior to "social media". Now, people can't talk face-to-face. They rudely stare at those phones even at family gatherings. Wild animals are more social than humans with phones.
