In gratitude to God and my patron Saint, the Apostle Timothy, I present here his Life followed by his Akathist. St. Timothy was the close disciple and spiritual companion of the holy Apostle Paul. St. Paul ordained St. Timothy and appointed him as Bishop of Ephesus (in present day Turkey). Zealous for Christ and expand His Church, the great Apostle confronted pagans during their festival in Ephesus, preached to them the Gospel, and in response was chased out of the city, beaten, and killed. His holy body was buried near his other Apostolic brother, St. John the Theologian. The text of his Life comes from the Synaxarion.
This Akathist hymn is beautifully written by Natalia J. Garland. I was not able to find an Akathist to St. Timothy that is officially blessed for use in public worship, but this Akathist was very well written, appears very accurate, and stirs my heart to gratitude and prayer. You can find this Akathist and others at: https://akathisthymns.wordpress.com/apostle-timothy/
Akathist begins at 5:52
Holy Apostle Timothy, pray to God for us!
This channel is dedicated to sharing the prayers, hymns, teachings, and service texts of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Glory to Jesus Christ!
My brother in Christ Jesus, it is time now 2020 for the Orthodox christians to open their eyes to the truth. Stop waisting your energy on wanting to record material that is already out their. Seek and you shall find the truth to real doctrine that has been taken away from us Orthodox people. in the years of saint Chrysostom. In the year 404 when Chrysostom was condemned and sent into exile, this was the end of him and every generation after that. 8 great brethren St.Ambrose, St Jerome , St Augustine, St. Gregory the Great, St Athanasius, St Basil, St Gregory Nazianzen and him self all suffered persecution. In the years of these great men, The Orthodox churches BAPTISED ADULTS ONLY. When these great Saints died so did we all. The Orthodox people slowly were pulling away from fasting and no longer were being Baptised So what did the church start doing,? How do the they make money now? They start baptising BABIE'S.
Its is written: "Most assuredly i say to you unless one is Born Again he cannot see the Kingdom of God". Saint John Chrysostom says in his books, " A man cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven unless he be Born Again of Water and the Spirit, (Baptism) and if he who does not eat the Flesh of Christ and does not drink His Blood (fasting) shall have no part in Eternal Life. WAKE UP our orthodox brothers and sisters we have been deceived, A baby has no SIN to wash away, There is nothing wrong with baptising a beautiful baby of God, BUT it has no sin. Adults are in Sin. We live in the flesh in Satans cursed world. The Apostles were told after the Resurrection to Go Ye therefore and teach all nations Baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. "He that believeth and is Baptised shall be saved. Jesus was baptised as an adult. Why cant people see this. Hold on to the truth, SAVE your Orthodox people. I pray that the Lord send you the Holy Spirit to open your heart and eyes to the Truth only God's people will receive the Light in the Truth because you will recognise it, It is Time.
May God Bless you all.
What a beautiful life of meekness and obedience. Thank you!
Would have been more effective to preach to them when they were hungover, spent & bleeding. Let's be smart Christians.
At 9:16 you people think you are going to get away with this? Yes I am a sinner, yes I am a man, yes I am our Father's Saint RILEY RIAN. My left foot Timothy died of wickedness. ORion. —.. ?
