St. Paisios the Athonite:
“You must also view all the others as saints.
And to see only yourself as a sinner, the smallest among all, even if other people may be sinners.
We have no right to see them sinners. We have no right to judge them! We have no right to speak against a sinner.
We have to see only ourselves as sinners, and the smallest among all!
…
Let our soul always thirst for the knowledge of the truth,
let it thirst for the forgiveness of sins,
let it thirst for the peace of consciousness,
Let it thirst for the heavenly joy!
The most beautiful thirst is the one for the union with Jesus Christ!
Let it thirst for the Holy Communion!
Let it thirst for the acquisition of virtues!
Let it thirst for entering as quickly as possible into the Kingdom of Heaven, to free itself as soon as possible from the vanity of this world, to free itself from pain, from sorrow, from torment, from the wickedness which reigns in the hearts of people!
For becoming free!
For freeing ourselves from passions!
And finally, let our soul thirst for the eternal joy!
Let it thirst for the union with God, so that we may live forever with the saints!
Because… how long will be our life here on earth?”
I love Saint Paisios. He's so wise. But are there any saints that focus on the life, goodness & love of Jesus?
These monks live a life surrounded by those that are striving for God. If we in the world cannot see any others as sinners or objectively judge them, then we will be brought down by bad company. Their environment is very, very different than ours.
That brought me to tears, I wish there was more of St. Paisios. I always enjoy hearing him speak, or reading his quotes. I truly enjoyed that. You have a subscriber for sure.
At 2:50 it's "When shall we…. When shall we…." not "For…. For…."
I am sorry but neither the voice nor the style of the recording is of Saint Paisios. I know it's from a vid originally uploaded in Greek. Of course, the content is still quite good and orthodox, though clearly quite common and originating mostly from brain, like most common preachings. Saint Paisios style and content is very rare and his words are full of humility and originating from heart mostly not brain. This is absolutely not Saint Paisios. Even the language spoken is Greek kathareuousa, which Saint Paisios didn't use when talking. It's obvious from all the books of Monastery of Saint John Theologos and Saint Arsenios of Souroti , where his tomb is, where the nuns had original recordings and the language and overall style are completely different, to anyone knowing some Greek and having studied the 5-6 volumes the Monastery has published. There are only a few original recordings of his voice, with absolutely different style voice language and content. One original is here https://youtu.be/CBmouygTaPE. No intention to underrate this effort, but the truth is the truth.
This is so humbling and beautiful. My wife feels tears in her eyes too. Now we see where we have gone wrong, it so easy to react badly when feeling afraid of another person's action towards us yet the answer can only ever be Christ. Thank y.
Oh Saint Paisios, please pray to the Lord for us and for our children, that He may free us from anguish and be able to enter together into His glorious Kingdom! Amen.
Saint Paisios pray for us that we may attain to that quiet and peaceful humility!
Lord have mercy on me a sinner 🙏
Thank you thank you thank you for translation and this video.
Thank you Saint Paisios!

I can not work in my restaurant due to COVID.
I will be fired at my house at the end of February. I will be homeless because of the pandemic. I do not have the money to pay the rent. The allowance I received was very small. I can not help my family. I am 62 years old, I do not want help for myself. I want to help my wife, who has had three cancer surgeries in Greece and is raising my grandchildren. I can say what you want.

There is no principle more marvelous than this "To see yourself as the only sinner, and others as good beings."
It is difficult. If i saw someone stealing or doing sth bad how can i say that he is a saint? Should i ignore him as i haven't seen him or should i pray for him? I didn't get it well my dear father and i have been asking my self these question for a long time. I really need to understand it.
Thank you so much for this video! Glory to God. St. Paisios, pray for us!
