"I said to myself concerning humans, 'God sifts them in order to show them that they are like beasts.' For the fate of humans and the fate of the beast is the same. The death of the one is like the death of the other, for both are mortal. Man has no advantage over the beast, for both are fleeting. Both go to one place—both came from dust and both return to dust. For no one knows whether the spirit of a human ascends to heaven and whether the spirit of the beast descends to the ground!" (Eccl 3:18–21 LEB)
Solomon, the wisest man in all the earth (who, sadly, fell prey to idolatry at the end of his life) seemed to believe quite strongly that even animals had spirits that persisted, to one degree or another, after their death.
And in accord with this, the numerous descriptions of the new heavens and new earth that we can find in Scripture frequently detail the presence of animals.
My favorite is Isaiah 11:6–9,
"And a wolf shall stay with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie down with a kid, and a calf and a lion and a fatling together as a small boy leads them. And a cow and a bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together. And a lion shall eat straw like the cattle. And an infant shall play over a serpent’s hole, and a toddler shall put his hand on a viper’s hole. They will not injure and they will not destroy on all of my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea." (LEB)
So, if the fullness of creation is restored and perfected in Christ at his parousia (Acts 3:19–21; Rom 8:18–25; 2 Pet 3:1–13), then why would the animals we loved so dearly in this life not be present? And the question is compounded all the more when one considers that "now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever he is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is" (1 John 3:2).
By God's grace, and the mercy of Christ, and the power of his Holy Spirit, we will have undergone theosis at our resurrection, and will have been transformation from one degree of glory to another (1 Cor 15). Will we then not be able, if we so willed, to resurrect our pets to a new life? I believe we certainly will have the ability to do so, if God had not already done so for us.
"I do not want to see all the Saints that I pray to in the nude. That would be awkward for everyone"
Gave me a smile after Noodle (my cat) has just passed.

I can’t imagine the Goats from which I ate meat from chase me😂
"He creates no thing in order for it to be destroyed" then why did he created giant killing machines (dinosaurs) that eated each other and then just smashed them all with giant meteor??? (obs: and humanity didnt even existed yet, to be blammed for the fall)
I was always taught that our being created in the image of God has primarily to do with our will and intellect, since the angels have that, so what then does it mean to be created in the image of God?
This was awesome brother! Haha!
I am mixed up now. I thought we were not supposed to "be like animals which only have instinct"?, but are you trying to say animals have souls? Maybe trees do, too? Rocks? All are created things, lest us not forget amoeba and covid.
On the other hand, in a New Heaven and a New Earth, maybe there would be new animals, maybe without covid–could we even tell say, a new dog from our favorite childhood puppy? Meanwhile, how many people get sick from pet dander and kitty litter dust (and whatever else is in it!?) by having animals in the house? I grew up on a farm, very rarely would an animal be in the house, but always well fed and cared for, except maybe when it was time to cook a chicken or two or three.
Should we have the pet cemetery? Love! 💝💒🎇
God made dogs to keep people company, he made cats to keep us humble.
I disagree. Animals do have souls, they are simply untainted souls. That is why in the garden of Eden they were not for eating and why God says things like, "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value." I believe we aren't as special as we think we are. God highly valued animals and cares for them but we are made in his image so we are his children. Plus we eat the fruit of knowledge which we were never created to eat. I believe we would worry ourselves to death if God and his angels weren't here telling us to relax and just love one another. Our bodies weren't designed for this and this is why so many struggle with anxiety, depression and self sabotage everything. That's what many archangels help us with if we ask and that is one reason we have guardian angels. They teach us and guide us and if we ask them they will pull us out of our own monkey brain chatter.
Again I disagree. The term, "it's raining cats and dogs!" Comes from at night when families brought all animals inside so that they can all be safe. Only really wealthy people owned a separate barn for animals. Most families throughout history in Europe kept a cow or goat for milk, chickens for eggs and other animals. They'd make the house in a rounded hut shape with multiple levels so it doesn't burn when the fire is lit. If it rained the straw roofs wouldn't be able to stop the water and it'd cause damage to the second level which would cause the cats and dogs to fall onto the family that normally sleep in 1 giant bed together. In colder climates like Russia, Norway and others the houses would freeze to death if left outside, even Ireland has houses designed to bring the pets in.
I love this so much. Thank you 💗
If we don't believe in the "salvation" of animals, it seems like we are denying the cosmic restoration which Christ accomplishes through his life, death, and resurrection. The Parousia will usher in a new age in which all things are restored and transfigured. If we think animals somehow are not included in this we are denying the cosmic scope of salvation that Christ has wrought for us. It makes Christ's act merely an idiosyncractic one, and not one in which we see all creation restored.
What about tarantulas and scorpions and mites and mosquitoes and ticks?
Are you crazy, complete mad?
Let’s not forget the lion will lay down with the lamb
Isaiah 11:6-9
I've never understood the ppl who get so fired up if you suggest animals will be in the kingdom. Why wouldn't they be? God created animals in the Garden and called them "good". Plus, my pug is a better person than I am.
Wonderful video! However, you are incorrect when you say that angels are not made in the image of God! St. John of Damascus specifically says that they are. Book II, Chapter III: "He is Himself the Maker and Creator of the angels: for He brought them out of nothing into being and created them after His own image, an incorporeal race, a sort of spirit or immaterial fire"
"…you, everyone you love…"
Is that a threat? 😂
I know this is false because at 8:52 it shows Heaven as having a redhead and we all know gingers don't have souls
(completely 10000000% /s)
Pretty sure there's a proverb that say righteous men do not abuse animals. Hence, it's very righteous to love your pets and other animals God has created. I love my two cats deeply, even if I annoy them a lot. They're great.
Lol, just realized we're the same age after seeing the dates on your tombstone. May we both live to 2075 and well beyond!
4:21 the problem is that when the body of an animal dies it is it. That is why it said: do not drink their blood for in it is their life. And is one of the reason we can cryogenically freeze and restore animals. They are more akin to machines. The main principle behind salvation is the free agent the ability to choose between good and evil: humans can choose, angels can choose, animals cannot choose. There will be animals in heaven but saying that your animals go to heaven is wrong. God can create an identical animal with the same thought processes, but is not the same animal because animals do not have an immortal soul.
I will never doubt the compassion and love of God. I believe this extends to animals.
Wonderful clip and wolderful statement, too. I only disagree in what you say that animals have no soul. A wonderful statement. Agree fully, only I do also believe animals have a soul, what is also supported by the biblical witness. What they indeed lack is likeness of God, so they cannot and never will participate in theosis. They have a soul, but have no νοῦς and are not created in the image and likeness of the Lord. But sharing a portion in the world to come? In Gods new world? Absolutely. I am happily looking forward to meet my beloved rabbit Olga again, when I shall be liberated from this earthly valley of tears and getting out of this mortal coil evetnually. And I will even be able to talk to her. That will be a joyous re-union.
So clear and simple, to hear the teaching of the Church in this way. Thanks, and keep up the good work, and your art!
I hope rats or snakes won't be saved.
Hope i see my Charlotte again…
Do you have a source for that Kingdom of God quote from Saint Justin Popovich? I wanna show my gf it.
If pets make you more good and loving, a good companion then keep it
