Saint Ephraim of Katounakia was contemporary of Saint Joseph the Hesychast; both of whom were recently canonized by the Orthodox Church into the ranks of the Saints. Saint Ephraim spent 65 years on Mount Athos as a monk, striving in his ascetical works in the Katounakia desert. His wisdom and spiritual experience helped thousands of people, both monks and pilgrims, throughout the years, and his words continue to inspire many even to this day. Saint Ephraim pray for us!

1 Corinthians 9/1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not a freeman? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?
2 If I am not an apostle to others, yet at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 10/1 Now I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of how all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2 and they were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea
1 Corinthians 1/1 Paul, a designated apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and the brother Sosthenes. 2 To the Ekklesia group of God which is in Corinth, set apart in Christ Jesus, designated as set apart people, with all those in every place appealing to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both theirs and ours, 3 merciful goodwill to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
So Paul is an apostle to them in Corinth, Greece. He addresses their forefathers who went with Mose under the cloud and through the Red Sea, only Israelites did that hence he calls them brothers in the sense kinsmen, so we know the Greeks were Israelites.
