Also just fyi the Antiochian Archdiocese in America does tonsure women as readers
Do most people of Russia or polish know of witcher series? If yes would the people of church be real life witchers?
I know from watching other videos on this channel the orthodox do believe that satin and demons do exist, how about something like shtriga, is this something like a demon or is this more like how some in America believe in big foot, ( not a demon but more of a specie that science is not sure exist, or religion neutral animal)
Hey Bojan, I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian, but I want to attent a Western Rite Orthodox liturgy. Can I receve Holy Communion there?
I have been watching the videos now for a few days, they help me understand alot of questions I had, I wanted to share what has happend to me to me that brought me to the church. I have been battling opiate addiction for about 10 years now. I've been in multiple in/out patient rehabs, ive been on suboxine/ methadone, I've read self help stuff on addiction. Nothing could keep me sober for longer then a few days at a time. One day I prayed to just be sober that day, with in a few hours of praying I had a friend from high school call me twice and ask me to get her heroin, I said no , that I wanted to be sober for that day, later I started hearing the foil I used to smoke heroin make that sound foil make when it's folded up, I thought it was my fan blowing air on it so I folded it up n put it in a small drawer because the sound was a temptation. Around that time the girl from the morning who called me needing heroin said she was really sick, withdrawing, asking me if I was sure I didn't know anyone I could get it from to help her out. I said no again, almost right after I hung up I started to hear the foil make noise again, but I knew there was nothing or no reason why the foil should have still been making noise. then started to think why are all these weird things happening today , trying to pull me back to that life when I had only been away from it for half the day. Up untill that day I never thought drug use had anything to do with "right or wrong" and I viewed it as nutural, neither right or wrong. Then I started to think of everything I had to do (lie, steal, cheat, threaten) to keep my addiction going, it maid me realize that while the act of just doing the drug wasn't right or wrong, all the things that came with that life was wrong, very wrong. But opiate addiction is a monster to beat, the sickness a person goes threw, both mentally and physically are something I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy. If herd people say drug use is a choice, maybe it's true, if it is it would be like saying a person with asthma have a choice to use an inhaler, or a diabetic has a choice to use insulin. Anyways I prayed more that day to stay off heroin and started taking methadone again not long after that to help me stay off heroin. With preying to god it seemed like it would be possible to get threw withdrawls even though they would still hurt, and I did get threw them. With preying to god daily to stay off the heroin I have (for the most part, been able to stay off daily heroin use, I've had mess up days but I don't use daily or let it consume every min of my life like before.) I guess my point is threw all that I learned good and evil, heaven and hell, god and the devil do all exist. God's love for me, his understanding of my illness, god showing me why what I was doing was wrong, were all literally the things that helped get me off n kept me off heroin. God loves us all, his own son died so we could all be forgiven and saved from the things that every person has been tempted by. God won't force us down any path, weather good or evil, but he is there to save us and teach us we just have to be willing to want a change and his love in our lifes. This last October I got a year clean, and I really though I would have only ended life over doseing or in prison. I love you God, thank you for a 2nd chance in life, and for loveing, teaching and careing about everyone of us.
I am curious what you think about Book of Enoch…It's referred to in the Bible, it's part of Dead Sea Scrolls (so I suppose it is very old scripture), it's a part of Ethiopian Bible but for "western" Christianity it seams it has no importance…
Thoughts on Bogomilism and the old Bosnian Church?
This is extremely deep in the comments but can you mention some tips for us orthodox in America? Also can you do a video on St. Theophylact of Ohrid
My first name was mispronounced in your last video it’s pronounced (Lou-see-ah); do you believe that it’s not okay to highlight or underline some Scriptures in the Bible?
Also what’s your favorite gospel in the Bible?
Very nice videos about Orthodoxy. Do not forget all the heterodox people in Orthodoxy we are all siners and we try to do the best for our salvation , You are all welcome ( ο Θεός αγάπη εστίν ) God is love 😘 from Greece
It's so painful to see this new schism because I'm a catechumen to a Greek Orthodox Parish and it feels awful to know that my Russian brothers and sisters are kinda being shunned by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople and likewise the Greeks by the Patriarch of Moscow, thankfully we have Russian Orthodox Christians in my home parish and they still receive the Eucharist and the other sacraments, I assume it's the same in Russian Parishes, but I hope and pray to God that it doesn't get worse, that would crush me to lose my friend Natalie, and see more unnecessary division amongst the Lord's most Holy Church 😢
Hi Bojan! What do you think of the works of John Romanides? Do you think, that a big part of why the christian West suffers a spiritual crisis is due to the fact, that we(Catholics) followed Augustines thoughts? Thank you.
What are ur thoughts about the coptic orthodox church
Who elso clicked on the video because of Ryuk in the thumbnail? 😉
You may have touched on this before, but do you have a favorite post-schism Roman Pontiff?
I hope Bart and Kirill don't split the church apart.
Remember people if you think it’s a sin it’s probably a sin
Fabulous!!
Is a catholic Priest for the Orthodox Church a real Priest?
That’s cool. Death Note was the first anime I ever watched. It was the only secular show I could watch with my dad as a kid, so I could probably recite the dialogue on command.
I'm jumping on bandwagon a wee bit late, but please, pretty please(lol) illustrate the Book of Ruth! Of all the OT books in the Bible, Ruth illustrates the coming redemption for us all in a stunning way! Short book, lots of layers to it.
THANK You so very much for time & energy devoted to all your YouTube presentations!
🐱
Ha ha, that's wrong kiddo
Saint Thomas Aquinas is a good Philosopher
In terms of Nietzsche, my understanding of his teachings are that there isn't any inherent meaning to life, but that meaning can be created for the individual through art, history, and asceticism. While his attraction to those things are indeed valuable, his understanding of a lack of inherent meaning is contrary to the doctrines of Christianity, which teaches that "you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32) This is found through the Triune God and His Word, teachings, scriptures, and Spirit. Because of this, while there is merit in understanding Nietzsche's point of view on the importance of art, history, and asceticism, we must also recognize the ultimate fault in his teachings, and that without a Christ-centered worldview, his perspective was doomed to be inherently combative to Christian doctrine.
On philosophy: STUDY IT. ALL OF IT.
If we are to convert the atheists and agnostics, who do not believe in God and the Word of God, what other weapons do we have?
Yes women can be tonsured readers in the US
We have women readers in KS USA
I love this chanel! Please keep up the good work!
We have a ton of tonsured female readers in the AOC. Mostly Greek Orthodox but there are others as well.
