The Mission of the Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry is to bring the love of Christ to those who are in prison by providing encouragement, material support, transition and reintegration services, Christian education, spiritual guidance and the sacramental life of the Church.
OCPM ministers to nearly 1,000 men and women who are in prison or who have recently been released. Many have embraced the Orthodox Faith, while others who were already Orthodox found their way back to The Church. Five men have been tonsured Orthodox monks in prison and several others have become Iconographers.

I just applied yesterday with the Government of Ontario for a chaplain position in a correctional facility in Toronto, Canada. I am a 36 year old male Orthodox Christian. I am not ordained nor have I studied in seminary. I hold a college diploma in addictions counselling and have worked as a CYW in the past. I have a working understanding of Church history, Theology and other world religions. I have strong interpersonal skills, but other than that I personally do not think I qualify for this position! However, if it is God's Will then I'll get the job. Please ask St. Xenia of St. Petersburg to pray for me! God bless and may Christ have mercy on us all.
