"To some, it may be difficult to understand how the Chetniks could rescue American Airmen from the Germans, as they did in at least one instance, and, at the same time, collaborate with these very same forces. The answer rests in the Chetniks' perception of who was really the enemy. The Chetniks considered the Partisan communist movement a far greater threat to Yugoslavia than the German occupation forces. Renewed Allied support was Mihailovic's only means of reversing the Partisan takeover. There was absolutely nothing to be gained by turning American airmen over to the Germans. In fact, evacuated Americans were a significant source of first rate public relations on behalf of the Chetniks. In late 1944, only Americans displayed any outward concern for what might happen to the Chetniks when the Partisans gained control. To do anything except rescue and protect American airmen would mean the loss of their last source of support and salvation."

   Mihailović's Chetniks also rescued German airmen and handed them over safely to the German armed forces (just as they did the Americans). They were paid in gold for each each. It was an opportunistic game of seeking to collaborate with both Axis and Allies. The 'rescue" of American airmen was merely a futile effort to win back Allied support.

8. Soo we chetniks helped the Allies, while they armed the communists to take over Yugoslavia, only to get into a Cold War with Communism right after WW2! More Communists majority Serb, killed both Serb chetniks and suspected affiliates or non-affiliates guilty till proven innocent, then the Ustasa managed to do! Germans killed the least amount of Serbs. . They talk of how Serbs officers etc were killed in POW camps! My grandfather was a POW in berlin. . Too much lies and propaganda against the Germans! The Victors damn well wrote the history, when he returned to his liberated yugoslavia. . He went to visit his dead chetnik brothers grave! Somebody tipped off the communist local police and they smashed him on his way home! A Kings Soldier who has nothing to do with Chetniks, simply paying respect to his brother, just returned from a POW camp was covered in blood! If anybody is interested, then i can tell you how the germans treated him. . Even after trying to escape twice!

9. +Christian Fighter Who killed Jews and Roma? Chetniks? Yes, Look up Kosta Pecanac and Dimitrije Ljotic, were they Chetniks or not? How is it that you are so ignorant of your own history? Jews in Serbia faced discrimination even before the war began.

   I compare Draza Mihailovich with Nedic and Ljotic? No, I was merely demonstrating that the Chetniks were not a single group; there were four different Chetnik factions; and they were 'opportunists', more anti-Communist than anti-Nazi.

   Nedic was not an Traitor? I suppose that depends on your view of things. Some say he was, other say he wasn't.

   You said, "Nedic fed the Serbian refugees which escaped from NDH " – And the Ustasa saved Croatians from the continuing brutality of the Serb-dominated regime of 23 years.

   You said, "Nedic collaborated with them to save the Serb" – Well, Pavelic collaborated with Nazi Germany to save Croats from the brutality they suffered under the Serb regime of 23 years. Would you like a history lesson of Royalist 'Serboslavia'? Even Albert Einstein publicly condemned the brutality which was being practiced upon the Croatian people for 23 years.
