Elder Joseph of Vatopedi was a spiritual child of Saint Joseph the Hesychast, who was recently canonized by the Orthodox Church. Elder Joseph spent 63 years on Mount Athos as a monk, a part of which he served as abbot at the Monastery of Vatopedi. His wisdom and spiritual experience helped thousands of people, both monks and pilgrims, throughout the years, and his words continue to inspire many even to this day. Elder Joseph pray for us!

Amin always we battle with the 'normalities' of society Lord have mercy on us. Wilfulness only leads to sin
"Gd did not bring us here for commodities." Can I LOL at the inherent humor in this? Or is it the sadness of it? The commodification effect is the process of dehumanization. The ego makes a thing of us. Things chasing things. Thank you Elder Joseph for this. I struggle with humility and a strange sense of 'embarrassment' when I pursue it. Ego.
