Later on the Catholic church became also a persecutor of all of those who did not follow their "religious leaders" view of the church and doctrine with the Inquisition. GOD never gave us RELIGION, but a reality. Satan's four pillars to take control of the world are… economy, education, politics and RELIGION. Most people in the world today don't even understand what the word CHURCH actually means according to GOD's spiritual teachings. People have come to believe a "church" is a building with a DENOMINATION where people gather on a single day to listen to a single person speak out as if GOD gave such "idol" the exclusiveness of His Holy Spirit to teach. In Scripture we find that by faith we receive His Spirit which is the only ONE that teaches us ALL TRUTH guiding us to the WORD He had already spoken by the pen of His elect in the past.

That's why it is very IMPORTANT to research Scripture.

Later on many thought that leaders of the ":churches" were the only ones "allowed" to speak and all others were to obey what such leaders said. Just like the building of cities centralizes people to take control of them, religions do the same and so satan will use the centralization of the population to control them.

The real schism is between biblical Christianity and pagan Christianity. Show me a New Testament verse for the fancy hats they wear, east or west. Show me a New Testament verse for the flowing garments they don, east or west. Show me a verse for the statues they erect, east or west. Show me a verse for or an order of celibate men and a separate celibate order of women east or west. Show me a verse that commands devotions to the saints east or west. Show me a verse for praying on beads east or west. Show me a verse for climbing in a box and confessing sins to a man east or west. Show me a verse that demands jewelry on high ranking members east or west. Show me a verse on Marian devotions east or west. Show me salvation by deeds or membership east or west. Show me any of these things in the Bible. Can't do it, why? NEITHER CATHOLIC OR ORTHODOX TRADITIONS REPRESENT CHRISTIANITY.
Praying for the eastern church to get back with the one in the west is like praying for the original members of Van Halen do get back together. Who cares, it has no baring on Christianity!

So many are so afraid of the word “religion”. Why not just say Orthodoxy or fill- in-the- blank is a good form of religion? I have my MA on Comparative Religion and I don’t have that allergy. Many Protestants say the same thing; “it’s not a religion; it’s a relationship with Jesus.” Get over it. I am a follower of Christ and I pray, read the Bible, and worship with others. I am religious. No problem.

Great insight into Orthodoxy! I am studying about Orthodoxy and coming from a Protestant background, it's astounding how different the approaches are between the two. My initial draw towards Orthodox Christianity manifested when first hearing the Orthodox Church described as a 'Hospital' rather than as a 'Religious Institution'.
That was for me, at that moment, a delivered shock which woke me up in between a radical Revelation and clear Common Sense.

How do you explain the religiosity in orthodoxy? How does the cure have the disease in its midst? Is orthodoxy the cure or is the nous' relational experience with God the cure? Or more accurately, is God the cure via the nous' restored relationship with God? Other religions have contemplation or meditative prayer where the spirit of the soul or nous communes with God's Soirit, the western church in particular. The orthodox church may emphasize it more, but it doesn't have a monopoly on this.
Well, I'm glad I watched this video, and especially that I read the comment about Fr. John Romanides. I didn't know he was an Ecumenist.
