bah! just when we were getting to the good stuff about Jesus being the word as the bible not being the word. That's more important than anything else.
please show more vids regarding this subject in detail. thank you for the series.
Christ is risen!
Dear berg64,
That is precisely the point. The Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church (the Orthdodox Church) does NOT consider everything that Augustine of Hippo said to be dogma. In fact, he made some serious errors which the Franks incorporated into their religion.
Thank you for watching and sharing!
@orthodox4eva: You're welcome. Christos anesti!
I'm half greek and i will never understand why the Greeks insist so much in mentioning ''GREEK'' Orthodox…Orthodoxy isn't Greek,it belongs to every soul that cries for light. If you want you can put Byzntine, but come on…We separated our Holy Orthodox church in pieces just because of some stupid issues.

Dear Patriotis,
We thank you for your comment.
@TrajanCorvine The best policy to follow is always to believe what the Holy Fathers have taught and believed at all times, and in all places. The *consensus* of the Fathers is the way to go.
Had to go through these whole series couple of times to get a handle of essence of these videos….thank you for posting…Christ is Risen!

@davidperi: We are glad to have been of some help to you, David.
One question, isn't even calling God energy un-created or created being speculative? Energy is something scientists can define. Or is this kind of a best effort word to define something undefinable?
@vanight Good questions! Orthodox theology is impirical since it is based on the experiences of the saints with the Creator, just as science is based on the experiences of scientists with creation.
I tell you: my mind is blown. Having practiced some form of Western Christianity practically all my life, I never knew such notions of Christian spirituality existed. My lifelong-cultivated notion of who God, Jesus, and the Church are is being transformed and, dare I say, liberated. It's like all of what I thought I knew, I really didn't know. Truly, discovering Eastern Orthodoxy spirituality is like seeing God, Jesus, and the Church for the first time. Thank you for making these available.
You're welcome, VitaminK!
The Catholic Church still hasn't reached a word on biblical infallibility. Though Catechism states that the scripture is without error, it also says the Christian religion is not a religion of the book but of the "living" Word of God (Dei Verbum), and requires interpretation. My argument would be that man in infallible and that language can not express the absolute as it as, but only characteristics of. Therefore how could men speak on the behalf of "God"? I'm not sure if this puts me in agreement with the Orthodox, but I could see this belief eventually becoming a mainstream Catholic understanding as well. Biblically inerrancy teaches that aspects of the writers personalities enter into the gospels themselves, and therefore could not express the literal word for word opinion of "God", and therefore can only express aspects of the absolute but not the Absolute in completeness. I'm not sure, though I don't believe this would be considered to contradict the Catholic understanding. Is it the Orthodox belief that the authors of scripture made mistakes (in what they claim)? or is it simply that the scripture cannot reveal Gods essence?
There's a lot of accusations that the western church believes xy and z when in fact it doesn't. For example, we don't believe that "the Bible is the word of God Himself". Where did you get that lunacy?
This book-discussion blew me away! You can not imagine, how much you helped me with this on my path to orthodoxy!
It is really a sort of a sin, that all this knowledge is kind of hidden in the official western narrative.
Thank you so much to you all. 🙂
Very good series. Thank you!
