1. Wow, brilliant analysis. It's so true the point about modernity being sold to us as ultimate freedom when instead we are actually pinned into an endless cycle of chasing pleasures that we are told will make us happy. Which they never do. The real conspiracy is between satan and the demons. Such an insidious struggle we are up against in the modern era. Since people are reasonably content with bread and circuses, it is harder for them to see the devil at work.

2. Great start to a complicated question but full answer needs to encompass analysis of Church's capitulation to current social crisis in all its dimensions.

Political discourse left the realm of "what is good for our nation, within the parameters of 2000 years of Western civilizational norms, as prescribed by our foundational documents and constitution?" and moved into the realm where one side advocates deliberate destruction of all norms and boundaries, even to destroying our ability to communicate clearly (semiotic terrorism).
    Nor was this accidental. Intellectual (so-called) movements, especially coming from Frankfurt School academics infiltrating academia, media, and government, were deliberately put in place to deconstruct Western society for the benefit of the perpetuation of Marxism.

    BTW, excellent example with the different ties– that really hit home, as it's something I've skimmed the surface of myself. It is somewhat frightening to contemplate how easily our own wills are subverted and subtly influenced, as if by osmosis, and most of it flies completely under our radars, now matter how aware we are of these things.

The 1980s saw the coalescence of the new American right which had been discredited by the abuses of the criminal Nixon administration and rebuked by the liberationist popular culture of the 1960s and moderately progressive Great Society policies of Democratic presidents Johnson and Carter, co to hi g some of the work of FDR’s New Deal. Reagan’s new right put into place at the highest levels a cadre of fundamentalist evangelical Christians pursuing a culture war to roll back social progress Democrats pursued previously. Republicans continued to galvanize white Christians around the putative threat to their dominance of American society, resorting to scapegoating, race-baiting and outright demonization, culminating in the protofascist rhetoric of Donald trump.
    If you wonder why ‘everything is politicial’ just ask yourself why you support republicans who can only maintain minority power through dividing the populace against itself.

22. In the modern world we can't trust the big corporations and the politicians. They won't ever fulfill anything for us, in fact relying on these things is what causes depression and emptiness in a lot of people's lives. The fact is we can only trust God to fufill our life. God is the only one who will give us what we truly need.

23. Does Fr Steven have an opinion on Sociology, too? I think I mean putting people into groups and catering for the group ,,'Over Sixties'for example rather than allowing individual choice in life style.
