Thank you and may God bless you! This was great. As a non-native English speaker I sometimes have hard time trying to read fr Stephen’s blog, the language or way of saying is quite complicated sometimes. But when I see him speaking, I understand every word and just want to shout ”Yes, father, I know what you mean”. So Glory to God for all things!
I love Fr Stephen and I hope to meet him some day! He’s written a bit about his struggles with anxiety and depression and I think that experience gives a sadness/tenderness/authenticity that is very attractive to people.
I haven’t been at this Orthodox business for long, but I can relate to what he says here. From the first time I attended Vespers I would catch bits of what the choir was singing and say, “Wait, what?” The service texts are unbelievable.
It's always inspiring to hear from ex-Protestants and their journey to more traditional Christianity. When he speaks about learning less it was rather interesting. In retrospect, I've gone from going from Charismatic Christianity to Eastern Catholicism and I feel like I know nothing, there doesn't seem to be such a stress on this acquisition of knowledge for the sake of knowing.
Every time I hear him speak I feel more drawn to Orthodoxy …. It just feels right. Excellent video good sir.
What a great series. Glory to God!
❤️

Thank you for this. Fr. Freeman is so sincere, so full wonder, so honest. Thank you.
WOW! Father Stephen points out many salient features of why one might want to explore Orthodoxy and give it a look-see.

Bless Father…
Father …. I "understand" that I DO NOT UNDERSTAND … the Liturgical Words are so "Beautiful"…. but so far above me… but just keep on reading …. used to read a lot of books… now there is only time to read the Services… please remember me in Prayer…
Christ Love from inner heart …
Mary…
I liked the emphasis on the liturgy. I am fascinated by the liturgy.
The longer I’m Orthodox worldly things just seem to fall away? The only thing that matters is Liturgy.
Fr. Thank You your spot on…
I am the son of an Orthodox mother and an atheist father. There was always strive between my father and me and I grew to hate him. This hate brought bitterness to my life. One day while I was in the sanctuary of the church an overwhelming feeling of forgiveness toward the father I had resented for so many years filled my heart and I cried the years that I should have shed for him when he died so many years before. I am writing this in order to tell anyone.who is interested in Orthodox spirituality.that this was a gift from God and also a miraculous lesson because I realized that if I could forgive my father I could forgive anyone. And the greatest miracles are those that God puts into our hearts unseen by others.
Knowlage does not SAVE… the purity in the heart does. [Mathew5:8] “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God”
God bless you brother
