Beautiful ancient hymn. The Lord's grace be upon you, mister
Blessed are You, O Lord, teach me Your statutes.
The choir of the saints has found the fountain of life and the door of Paradise. May I also find the way through repentance, I am the sheep that was lost, call me up to You, O Savior, and save me.
Blessed are You, O Lord, teach me Your statutes.
You who did fashion me of old out of nothingness, and with Your Image Divine did honor me; but because of the transgressions of Your commandments, did return me again to the earth from whence I was taken; lead me back to be refashioned into that ancient beauty of Your likeness.
Blessed are You, O Lord, teach me Your statutes.
I am the image of Your unutterable glory, though I bear the scars of my stumblings. Have compassion upon me, the work of Your hands, O sovereign Lord, and cleanse me through Your loving-kindness; and the homeland of my heart’s desire bestow on me, by making me a citizen of Paradise.
Blessed are You, O Lord, teach me Your statutes.
Give rest O God… to the souls of Your servants, and appoint for them a place in Paradise; where the choirs of the saints, O Lord, and the just will shine forth like stars; to Your servants that are sleeping now give rest, overlooking all their offenses.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
The triune radiance of the One Godhead with reverent songs acclaiming, let us cry; Holy are You, O eternal Father, and Son also eternal, and Spirit Divine; shine with Your light on us who with faith adore You, and from the eternal fire rescue us.
Now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Hail, O gracious Lady, who in the flesh bears God for salvation of all; and through whom the human race has found salvation; through You may we find Paradise, Theotokos, our Lady pure and blessed.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia; Glory to You, our God. (3x)
Well, i'm not orthodox but this is awesome! DEUS VULT!!!
There 2 Satan's disliked the Resurrection
The version in romanian says " the choir of the saints have found the fountain of life " at the begining. I think the translation in this one is a bit off
Beautiful hymn, I'm glad that it is translated into English.
Someday, I will die. We all will die. Lord have mercy. ☦️🙏
keep praying for the dead. if someone didnt make it to the heavens through our prayers can be saved.
I fisrt heard this in a recording of John Tavener's Panikhida, and am still amazed , not only by the beauty of the music but by the beauty and the truth of the words. Humans, even the worst, still retain the image of God,a nd that is precious even if we cannot see it.
You know, we all travel in this earth on faith, and that's a hard path to travel. This hyme always brings a tear in my eyes. When we pass on, we will pass on faith along, cause no really knows what's on the other side, we're like children afraid of the dark. But have faith that our father will take care of us, like any good father would. Thank you for uploading this piece, take care and God bless.
I love this music much more than contemporary christian music. This is absolutely beautiful and hopeful
Such a beautiful chant. Lord have mercy on the living and on the dead. Simply cannot live without orthodoxy. Would love to become orthodox but unfortunately there is no church at all here. Breaks my heart. Pray that the holy mother, the Theotokos will intercede for a change of circumstances to enable us to move forward. Thank you God bless
I’m not Orthodox but this is beautiful. I wish Protestants did chants like this. I enjoy them so much more than the songs they play
Tip: put it on 1.25. It sounds so much better.
May God bless the reposed soul of my father. May his memory be eternal. Tomorrow is one year old of his death.

May God have mercy on my Godfather John Thomas who passed away this evening. Protect him in his hour of trial.
I don't know where to post this but I would like to share this comment. First I would like to touch on how secular the west is now, and how we outwardly express a lack of faith, and yet find meaning in art and music, and we use that transformative power to score imaginary video games and movies and advertize products we don't need. Its really odd looking back because the Logos in the art is as real as ever, and we use it to theme all of these imaginary concepts, the movies, ads etc. and if we touch on love its a phony romantic infatuation and not a love of truth. And even as an athiest I found it odd and lamented that we USED to outwardly praise the Lord in our art. The meaning in art was just something I could never shake off.
So a while ago I was thinking about music in video games, its something that I have always loved, and for all of my life up to this life I was also athiest. But there was always this beauty and meaning to the music, no matter how dated the mechanics or games themselves became, there was this sense that music was involving you because video games are a particapatory medium. Basically the music in video games is meaningful because you are actively engaging in the context, if its a theme of defeat its about YOUR defeat etc.
I was thinking about the Hub themes in the Souls series, Firelink shrine, Maiden in Black etc. and how those songs are so meaningful because they provide the player a sense of respite in a bleak and oppresive world. And I looked inward as I have listened these Chants and I have no other way to put it but these chants are the "real world" versions of these hub themes, they are the equivalent of Firelink Shrine but in the context of the real world itself, that liturgy much like these soundtracks are a participatory augmentation of your experience of the real world. I don't know if that sounds confused or not, but looking back I basically felt the same as I did listening to the video game music, but where that music felt real, this feels almost "hyper" real.
Knowing the context of what the chants are about, and especially if you actually sing along to it, it is just so much more real. It amazes me that people stay atheist and yet believe in art that is way less real than this.
