Father, this was very edifying. Thank you, especially for the remarks on the angels. I was chrismated earlier this year and named for the archangel. I heard the passage from Daniel read during vespers for the Synaxis of the Bodiless Powers earlier this month and was confused by the language, especially regarding the use of "prince," and the language in the OSB is even more confusing than what the psaltis were reading from. I had not even heard this portion of Daniel before converting. This teaching was very much appreciated.
Just wondering about this concept of Adam being a child like status in mind! I agree he was a type of King by being a created Son of God and by the Father giving him Dominion over the earth and the created animals. Yet the New Testament says that Adam was not received but he fully knowing disobeyed the command.
1st Timothy 2:14
14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. From this, it seems to imply Adam knew what he was doing and the consequence of his action. Whereas Eve didn't know thinking she would be like God or become God-like.
