There are many who seek to follow Christ in the world who fall into the trap of treating God, His Kingdom, His Word, His angels, and His saints as distant, abstract concepts to be dealt with purely intellectually. Among the Orthodox, I've seen that divine matters are treated as intimate realities. To them, religion is active engagement with the living God, and His Tradition.

This was simply beautiful
I like that as I inquired into the Church, all I did was stand at the back, and yes, I watched people! It felt right, but I didn't know what to do, so I just watched what the old women did, haha, and copied them! Once, I arrived late because of the snow, and could only find a seat near the front. I knew what to do by then for the most part, but then an old woman said to me later in a hushed tone that I was crossing myself too quickly, and too small! She said in the most broken English "*Do it big. Big, so the devil may see!*" I always remember that.
Aren't we as believers temple?
Like Father, when I first went to the Orthodox Church, I too said “I am home” ☦️♥️ Glory to God Most High!
Please pray for me that by grace of God I can finally come into the orthodox church. It would indeed be a homecoming.
Most holy Theotokos remember all those seeking to become orthodox 🕯️🙏🛐☦️
I'm Turkish and I'm getting baptized. God Bless you All.
That's brilliant what Abbot Tryphon says about becoming icons.
I don't believe some of the theological views of orthodox
Pray for me
I think the problem with Orthodoxy for many Christians from Protestant backgrounds is Matthew 23. The whole pomp and spectacle of Orthodoxy is too much like the Scribes and Pharisees.
Beautiful
Thank you for the information that you shared. I’m a former Roman Catholic getting confirmed on Palm Sunday at St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church.
JESUS LIVES, HALLELUJA
ETERNAL LIFE IN JESUS NAME ONLY,
because of COVID – 19 in Germany I lost the restaurant we rented because I did not have the money to pay the rent. I have also been evicted from the house. I do not know the language and due to my age I am not accepted for a job. I can no longer take care of my grandchildren and my sick wife who live in Greece. If you want to help me.

If you can not, it does not matter. At least say a wish for my cancer-stricken wife to live a little longer.
God be with you.
I'm Catholic and I have the utmost affection and respect for our Orthodox brothers and sisters. Wonderful video. God bless you!
I attend a catholic church near me and the priests are wonderful. But it always just doesn't feel right. Like something is missing, ideas are gone, that it's not all there
With Orthodoxy, it seems as though perhaps it's got it's finger a bit closer to the mark.
I'm not baptized yet, but I want a full body immersion, and I want it to be done in an Orthodox church. I want to be Orthodox. But where I live, I would have to drive almost an hour every Sunday just for mass because of how far the nearest one is, and it's a tiny Russian Orthodox church..
Hopefully one day when I move, I can be closer to one, and join through them.
Very nice
I'm not even christian but I feel very drawn towards Orthodoxy. There is only one Greek orthodox church I have found in my country (Panama) but ever since Covid everytime I walk by it's closed! 🙁 Hope I can attend mass soon.
This video is in reality the opposite of what it claims. The subject REFUTES the Eastern Orthodox religion. The religion keeps people in a one or two year queue to join Orthodoxy, until the pseudo priest is satisfied the person is indoctrinated up to the eyeballs in Orthodoxy enough. What if the person dies in that 1 or 2 year period? Jesus emphatically stated in John 3 you cannot see or enter the kingdom of God unless you are born again….. so the priest would be denying the person eternal life for 2 years.
Also – If the born again experience arrived via the route Orthodoxy claims, that is via 1) Chrismation (the magic potion that gives eternal life, possessed only by the Orthodox) 2) An exorcism (come out of him Satan! etc) 3) Triple baptism via an Orthodox priest, this means a man becomes part of your salvation, called sacerdotalism. John 3 refers to the water of the Spirit, not baptism. Orthodoxy is witchcraft.
Interesting, thanks.
I have 2 things to say, do orthodox priests speak greek like the catholics speak latin, I'm an american converting to the orthodoxy I'm 15 and I live in an area where there really is no orthodox churches unless you want to drive to the city and even then there is like a dozen what should I do?
I have recently discovered Celtic Christianity which has firmly established links in the Orthodox Church and the teachings of the Desert Father's
Do you have to be baptised in order to be considered an Orthodox?
I had the opportunity to meet Abbot Tryphon way back in the early 1990's. Very good preacher and kind person. "God is the God of the living not the dead." Sound familiar?
Thanks for sharing
I always like hearing Abbot Tryphon ever since I heard him about 30 years ago at Most Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral in San Francisco. I remember him talking about riding a bicycle and the wind separating his beard. Thank you for this video.
