The Pharisees depart but the crowds flock to Him from EVERYWHERE! The Pharisees "know" that they don't want Christ. The Crowd know that they need Him. St. Mark clearly finds this a really exciting time. The demons' particular Hell is recognising Christ but they are incapable of doing anything about it.
