Elder Ephraim of Arizona , in this video, recounts the story of an Orthodox woman who died without confessing a great sin on account of her shame. He goes on to describe what happened to her after she passed away, and how the Virgin Mary interceded to Christ on her behalf. Finally, Elder Ephraim emphasizes how important it is to confess everything, so that the Orthodox Christian may be ready to die at any moment with the hope of life eternal.

Elder Ephraim of Arizona (or Philotheou) was a spiritual child of Saint Joseph the Hesychast, who recently passed away to the Lord. Elder Ephraim spent 32 years on Mount Athos as a monk, a part of which he served as abbot at the Monastery of Philotheou. In 1979, Elder Ephraim came to America for an operation and through divine inspiration he was told to remain and build 17 Orthodox monasteries. His wisdom and spiritual experience helped thousands of people, both monks and pilgrims, throughout the years, and his words continue to inspire countless Orthodox Christians. Elder Ephraim pray for us!

If one has committed blasphemy and one wants to stop blasphemy and confess is it possible to be forgiven, can all sins be forgiven can one repent
I have a question 😟
Even after all those years of tears for a sin, that she, as a female believer, couldn't tell her spiritual Father out of shame, she still wasn't forgiven?
What if she told her sin to her spiritual Father but without shedding a single tear?
Does a person go to hell right after death? & Not on the day of judgement?
Why did Christ bring her back to life? Even with all her willpower to repent, she wasn't forgiven? I don't understand 😟
I believe He gave His disciples the authority to bind & forgive sins, but even after all of her pleading, why didn't He forgive her? By His own authority?
Thank you for revealing this. It was an answer to a question I had asked while in prayer. God bless.
According to our apostle pauls ministry in The King James Bible,we are only saved by believing The Gospel of Jesus Christ,1st Corinthians Chapter 15 verse 1-4.Jesus Christ died on the cross, shed His Blood for all of our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day.Jesus Christ Shed Blood is what saves you when you believe this plan of salvation with your heart.
I am not baptized because my family isnt Christian. And it seems it’s really hard for me to get baptized as the only Orthodox Church near me is Serbian, and I’m an Albanian. It would create huge division in my family and then there is the linguistic problem. Point is, if I somehow do not manage to get baptized there or maybe the government closes the church down, will God see my innocence that I couldn’t go to confession?
it doesn't seem right that God has such strict criteria because it should be obvious to God that the lady had repented and was sorry. the only reason she refused to tell a Priest about her sin was because she was embarrassed and too shy to tell him, not because she wasn't sorry.
also God doesn't have such strict rules for Protestants, Baptists and Evangelicals who are saved, so it seems like double standards that he has stricter rules for Eastern Orthodox people and Roman Catholics. can someone explain why the double standards?
Most Holy Theotokos save us!
Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner!
Elder Ephraim, pray for us!
