In this talk, Fr. Seraphim gives insight and advice especially helpful for Orthodox Christians in America. He briefly shares the history of Orthodoxy in the US, examines the present state of the Church, and gives advice on how we can live out our Orthodox Faith. Being a convert himself, he knows the common pitfalls that new Orthodox believers fall into and how to avoid them. Any inquirer, catechumen, or baptized Orthodox Christian will gain much help from this talk.
Fr. Seraphim says in this lecture: “St. Tikhon, therefore, gives us a start in understanding what Orthodoxy is: it is something first of all of the HEART, not just the mind, something LIVING AND WARM, not abstract and cold, some thing that is learned and practiced in LIFE, not just in school.”
Fr. Seraphim gave this talk at the Saint Herman Winter Pilgrimage, December 12/25, 1979, at Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville, New York.

So racist = all Greeks. Fr Dionysus Dragas got rid of an American Archbishopric incumbent because Greek business doesn't want other businessmen taking over.
Blessing to you 🙏✨✨♥️✨♥️✨♥️✨♥️
Thankyou for this. I struggle reading books but can listen to others read them all day long.💙☦️🙏
I wish someone had the forethought to videotape Fr. Seraphim giving this talk at Holy Trinity Seminary. ☹️
I'm really grateful for this channel.
So much wisdom
Amen!
Amen! Thank you, and may our good Lord bless you! 🙏☦️
Now that Eastern Orthodox Christianity is party of the USA. My question is this, does the Eastern Orthodox Christian faith have to get involved with American politics such as voting for a candidate for political office? Whether it's Democrat or Republican. I have a friend of mine who's a devout Greek Orthodox Christian and a advocate for former President Donald J. Trump. However, I think some Eastern Orthodox Christians in America would rather not have anything to do with American politics. I remember when I was at a Greek Orthodox Church in the south end of Hartford CT, the Orthodox priest encouraged the parishioners to remain focused on their Christian faith and pay no attention to American politics and their views.
