What was helpful for myself was just go to Church for God. Learning about the faith. Allowing yourself time to find what works for you. Some priests and other parishioners may not appreciate you much. I have been Orthodox for 14 years. I love it.
I hope that one day I will be back close to a Parish and a spiritual father again one day. Enjoyed the video!
The longer I live the more it seems that the truth or the right way to go often lies in the middle, avoiding extremes on both sides. This can be a challenge for me as I sometimes just want to be told exactly what to do ๐
Fr. Panteleimon Dalianis, forgive me for my words and the anger I provoke to you. May Theotokos reach into my hardened heart. Narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Maturity in Orthodoxy may be achieved under trials and tribulations. In Transilvania, under Austro-Hungarian papist rule and in Russia, under tsarists, and later on under communist authority, a minority of believers refused to compromise with the official power, had separated from the central patriarchate, thus functioning in the catacombs. The priests of the catacombs had been martyred to almost extinction. The believers had to baptize or bury their dead by themselves according to the principle of universal priesthood. This is not for the discouragement of the young but for their preparedness. Today normal people are preoccupied by self gratification to the extreme, like in the old times when "bread and circus" was the sole engine of the society. We are ripe for harvest, the very last christian persecution, which this time will be done in the name of medical martial law. May God have mercy on Orthodoxy. G00gle as one word: giftofgivingup_power
