Thank you for this.
Helpful.
Thank you, always helpful.
Thank you Father Spyridon.
As a 55 year old man who has been away from faith his entire life (Even though baptized Protestant), I find your discussions excellent. You make it easy for someone like me to understand, I thank you for that. Since my beautiful wife died in 2017 I find myself lost. I am raising our 10 year old daughter myself and this struggle is hard. Trying to understand, trying to heal, seeing to my daughters care and heart. I find myself being drawn deeper to Orthodoxy, and I thank you for that. I’m just not sure where to start.
Ask for focus and you will be guided.
True faith will be doing works before you can even ask a question about faith vs works. One thing you can count on is that Lutheranism is usually misrepresented by Orthodox and Catholics. They don’t get it. If they got it, they might actually believe it.
God love you father Spyridon. Your lessons on scripture has changed me for the better. You teach it in way that l can better understand and absolutely love the quotes of saints in the end.
God to glory to God. Praise the Name above all Names. Thank you for sharing this with us. ❤️✌️❤️
My question is how does one reconcile this concept of salvation being a process with the Apostle Paul's word that states by grace through faith are you saved and that Not Of Yourself, it is the gift of God not of works lest any man boast. I was a sinful man and then received Christ into my life at about age 20 and by His grace and love alone He redeemed me… I agree that we must work out our salvation and cooperate with Gods grace in order to live the Christian life but that is different from the idea that I am working "for" my salvation!
Спаси Господи душу мою грешную. Во имя Отца, Сына и Святого
Духа. Аминь
Thank you father. So much.
Thank you Father. I converted last year to orthodoxy. I was born and raised catholic. During that time I have fought against despair and sadness. I understand now that I must embrace my circumstances and carry my cross.
Awesome. Thank you Fr.
As a Catholic, I love Eastern theology. Scholasticism in the West turns a mystic fan like me off from trying to understand. Love your channel Father Spyridon
the scriptures teach that faith without works will bring salvation, yet this type of faith does not save the soul or body, after a careful study of the word we discover that faith with works also saves us, but it cannot save the spirit since it was saved by faith without works, rather it saves the soul and body. James @ + 1 Timothy @ + Matthew @-17 respond back I can will reveal to you many more scriptures that teach this truth.
I thank God for you. May Father Jesus and the Holy Spirit be with you, guard you guide you and enlighten you always. May you live long and bear much fruit for our Lord Jesus Christ(Father Son and Holy Spirit). Break forth oh Beautiful Light and usher in the morning Glory. Blossom and bud and bloom and grow and rule and reign and shine Forever. Amen.
Please give us blessings at the end and fill us with the Holy Spirit.
Lord Jesus Christ , son of God , have mercy on me , a sinner.
Thank you for your words Father.
I really appreciated this, I have struggled with this relationship since I was 6 years old and also underscores why Protestantism left me with some unresolved loose ends even from that early age (I found the book of James often gets shuffled aside in sermons and studies instead of integrated). I also find the garden analogy very helpful as my family comes from a line of agrarians, the struggle to keep plants alive is very real to me. You have to constantly spray off spider mites with water, remove aphids by hand, experiment with soil quality, learn from the mistakes of over-watering etc. and so on, and above all you learn very consistently and objectively how a neglected garden fails. The other fascinating thing (and I may be stretching the analogy a bit here) is that, though they all look green, each plant is dramatically different in terms of what it needs to grow and stay healthy.
Can someone please help me learn what this music at the end, around 4:10, is? Thank you.
Fabulous 110%
This sounds very much like what I’ve heard from Catholics on this subject. God bless you, Father!!
I'm finding it harder to live in this world than ever before and it's a great help to me to hear you speak such wisdom and truth. Thanyou.!
Why do you change the scriptures? The Holy Bible says whosoever believes in and confesses Christ and what He did on the cross will be saved. Salvation is not a process. Sanctification after salvation is the process. Why do you confuse people? God is so good and has made it so simple that a small child can understand. Why not just speak directly and clearly. This is what bothers me about my Greek Orthodox faith, church leaders sometimes ‘beat around the bush’ about what it takes to be saved.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.
Thank you for your words Father.
Wisdoms much appreciated
false accusation against Catholics
thank you father spyridon
I can say I am ashamed of myself that, I can spend hours doing things I enjoy, I can talk to buddies hour on end, I can even just sit in the quiet and not do nothing. Then even though I do talk to God daily it’s for short stints. He formed me in my mother’s womb, he took me from so much tragedy and helps me overcome. He gave my everything, wife, kids, a home. Yet I struggle to talk to him. Friends come and Go but God is always the one constant, even when we forget him or have a short prayer in the morning or night, or even do and say things that grieve him as our Father, he still loves us, he’s the great I am, saying I am here, I love you, I want you to be with me. Even sacrificing his own son. Watching Jesus go through all that mistreatment and abuse. Having the first humans betray him for their own selfishness. He still says I am here and love you. He deserves so much more than we give or could ever give. God forgive us. God forgive me.
I am shocked. What you just described is what the Catholic Church teaches. Why do you described the Catholic Church teaching on salvation as legalistic? The truth will set us all free.
