Amazon description: “What is the ancient Christian understanding of today’s UFO sightings? What is behind the Charismatic Movement? What phenomena are assaulting Christianity in our modern world? How can Christians avoid being caught up in the Apostasy?
ORTHODOXY AND THE RELIGION OF THE FUTURE examines in eight chapters these and similar questions facing Christians in the contemporary world. The religious phenomena of today are symptoms of a “new religious consciousness” that is preparing the world religion of the future. Phenomena such as Yoga, Zen, Tantra, Transcendental Meditation, Maharaj-ji, Hare Krishna, UFOs, the Charismatic Movement and Jonestown are presented in contrast to the Orthodox Patristic standard of spiritual life, without the understanding of which, in the coming time of antichrist, it will scarcely be possible for Christians to be saved.
This work is a concise and unequivocal Orthodox statement on contemporary trends; its urgent message rings loud and clear. Viewed from a foundation based in Patristic teachings, the spiritual movements of the day are clearly various spiritual deceptions that have existed since the beginning of the Church, rather than the achievements of a new religious consciousness. Addressing soberly and directly the trends of pseudo-spirituality which loom enticingly today, ORTHODOXY AND THE RELIGION OF THE FUTURE provides a beacon of discernment in these times of widespread spiritual deception. The book examines a broad spectrum of issues facing modern Christians–each from the perspective of the early Church Fathers. As the “New Age” is becoming a household concept and is moving into wider acceptance by mainstream society, the “new religious consciousness” can be seen progressing precisely along the lines described by the late Fr. Seraphim”.

God bless brother
Very helpful! Thank you for providing these!
Thanks for this!
Hey man, after listening to your video you really changed my ideology!
I was raised in the Black Pentecostal church. I cannot believe how adept the knowledge of Father Rose was about the Charismatic Movement.
Everyone wants to pray hardly is there one found that wishes to repent. What's more is that repentance is extremely difficult here in the West.
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 1 Timothy 1:7
it is fake and will split the church.
I now realize how wrong I have been.
Prelest in the extreme.
Whoa! This hit me between the eyes. I was raised in Pentecostalism, and this is so true. SO true. I left it roughly 15 years ago and only a year ago did I find the Orthodox Church. Thank you, Benjamin Ignatius. This quote Fr. Rose shares is absolutely true in my experience. I cannot explain how true this is from a former Pentecostal protestant. "The tongues movement is not at all a revival. For there is in it little repentance or conviction of sin but chiefly the search for power and experience… It becomes more and more clear that perhaps more than 95% of the whole tongues movement is mediumistic in character." Koch p. 35. Thank you for sharing this!
I was raised in Pentecostal Churches. As a young man I attended Bible college and worked for the Foursquare denomination. By God’s mercy I escaped that morass of spiritism and prelest, or so I thought. I have been Orthodox for six years, but it wasn’t until I listened to this that it finally all came together. I had seen some pretty amazing stuff in the Charismatic movement. I assumed at least some of it most notably the miracles were from God. I finally understand that assumption is wrong. My Dad was Chrismated Orthodox a few years ago and he still struggles with this. Sadly my mother is still deeply committed to the Charismatic Movement. You can’t even have a rational conversation with her about it. She has seen so much and accepted so much that the whole of her Christianity is infused with it. All I can do at this point it pray and live my life as an Orthodox Christian. The spiritual delusion is real, guard your heart and trust the Orthodox Church.
In the Azusa street revival before the Holy Spirit moved people came to conviction of the Holy Spirit to repentance and conversion to Christ and a closer relationship to Him. Those who are truly filled with the Holy Spirit are drawn to Christ and begin the path of sanctification. Read the book of acts and see what happened at Pentecost.
Nicely read and with lower volume background music than the previous chapters. Is this the last or are there other sections to follow. ?
I was sent to church camp in my early teens where I was basically forced to learn to "speak in tongues." At the time it didn't feel right to me but I was not mature in my faith and understanding of the God and just accepted it. I basically faked it by uttering senseless syllables and I never prayed with it on my own after leaving the camp. I do think it contributed greatly to my negative view of Christianity in my late teens and early 20s.
